Help and FAQ

Clear answers when they matter.

Find practical guidance on reports, alerts, privacy, safety modes and the features currently available in Skawt.

What do Skawt alerts mean?

Alerts bring together updates you are allowed to see from your trusted circle, communities and Skawt operations. Read the source, time and status shown on each alert. An alert is information, not proof that emergency services have responded.

Does Skawt contact emergency services?

No. Skawt helps you record and share information and keeps emergency numbers within reach. It does not automatically dispatch police, fire or ambulance services. If someone needs immediate help, call the appropriate emergency number yourself.

What is the difference between Yellow Mode and Red Alert?

Yellow Mode is a precautionary check-in for a journey or situation that feels uncertain. Red Alert is for immediate danger. Drive Yellow is the trip-safety version of Yellow Mode and is not the same as a Red Alert.

How do Trusted Contacts work?

You choose the people in your trusted circle. Features that notify or share with them must say when they are available and ask for the required permission. Adding a contact does not make that person an emergency responder.

What can Cody do?

Cody is the friendly side of Skawt Guardian. It can explain features, help draft a report and guide you to relevant screens. Actions that affect reports, contacts, navigation or money require your confirmation. Cody can be wrong and cannot replace emergency services or professional advice.

Does Skawt verify evidence?

Skawt can assess confidence using provenance, consistency and available corroboration. That assessment is not a verdict that something is real or false. Human review and the status shown with each item remain important.

What happens to recordings?

Audio and video capture starts only after you choose it and grant device permission. The screen shows whether a recording remains on your device, was uploaded, has a transcript or has no automated processing available.

Who can see my exact location?

Public reports use an approximate area. Exact location is restricted to the safety purpose and audience stated on the screen, such as an authorised safety team or a trusted contact during an enabled sharing flow. Skawt does not publish your exact address to the community feed.

What is a Skawt Community?

Communities are neighbourhood, school, market, estate and other local groups. Membership and moderation determine what you can see or share. A listed group is not automatically an emergency service or official authority.

How are Wallet, Coins and gifts different?

Wallet is for real-money records. Skawt Coins are internal reward points. Gifts use Coins to support or thank someone. Creator Earnings, Reputation and Community Impact are separate systems. Spending never buys trust, authority or safety influence.

What happens after I send a report?

Skawt timestamps the report and shows its current state. A report may be pending, reviewed, verified, limited or removed. If you are offline, an eligible report can be held on your device and sent once connectivity returns without creating a second copy.

What if information cannot be verified?

Skawt keeps uncertainty visible. Information may stay pending, be labelled as unverified or be withheld from wider distribution. A lack of corroboration does not prove that an event did or did not happen.

How does moderation work?

Reports, communities and broadcasts can be reviewed against safety and platform rules. Moderators may limit, correct or remove content and record the reason. Paid status does not change moderation authority or credibility.

How do video and Skawt Live work?

Video requires an explicit camera choice and permission. Live screens distinguish public external feeds, sample content and genuine Skawt broadcasts. Availability depends on the provider and account state shown in the app.

Which features are live now?

Skawt labels sample content as SAMPLE or DEMO and unavailable functions as not available in this beta. Provider-backed features such as voice, routing, messaging, payments, live broadcasting or ride booking are available only when their screen confirms a configured and tested connection.
